Quote Design

The artwork I created was based on a quote by Sidartha Buddha. "Do Not Dwell in the Past, Do Not Dream of the Future, Concentrate Your Mind on the Present" is the quote that I used for this design. The quote sticks out because all of the letters are in bold and are very visible. The words that have to do with time, such as past, future, and present, are in white to stick out even more than the rest of the words. Instead of what most people did, like just putting a clipping mask over a photo with text, I attempted to transform the word Buddha according to the features of the face. I had to change the contrast and lighting of the photo to make other parts of it different than the rest, so it didn't all just blend together. After that, I took the pen tool and outlined the areas, then I make a mesh with the object with the word, then transformed it to fit into place well.

EMOTION In Text Designs

The way lines are used can portray feelings in many different ways. Lines can make different moods depending on if they're close together, far apart, wavy, straight. Also font types can convey meaning. Dark fonts can show excitement or anger, and thin fonts can show emotions that are quiet, such as sad or lonely. Knowing how to express emotion can help in future artwork that involves text and that tries to display a message to the viewer.

LOGO Design

The assignment for this piece of art was to somehow incorporate negative space into your text. My artwork was the word bed, which is also supposed to look like a bed too. I always thought that the word bed actually looked like a bed, so when this project came, I had the perfect idea already and made this.
